Welcome to Piedmont Café, a space where history and hospitality converge. Nestled in the heart of Seattle, our café resides in what was once the grand lobby of the Piedmont Hotel & Apartments, a landmark built in 1928. From its origins as a gathering space for travelers and locals alike, this storied location has been reimagined into a vibrant café that pays homage to its past while embracing the present.

At Piedmont Café, we are proud to be a shared space for our community
a place where neighbors, hospital staff, caregivers, seniors, and friends can gather, rest, and connect.
All tables are community tables. Guests with disabilities, mobility needs, or accessibility concerns are considered priority seating, and you may be kindly asked to adjust your seating to accommodate them. This includes our elders visiting from nearby senior and assisted living homes.
As our neighborhood has grown and demand for seating has increased, we’ve had to make a thoughtful adjustment to how we manage our space.
To ensure that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the café, we kindly ask that guests limit their visits to 90 minutes.
This guideline helps us:
We understand that many guests come here to work, meet, or relax for extended periods, and we truly value that. At the same time, when tables are occupied for several hours, it can prevent others — including those with limited mobility or coming from nearby care facilities — from finding a place to sit and enjoy the space.
Our goal is not to rush your experience, but to balance comfort with access so that Piedmont Café remains a place for everyone.
We appreciate your understanding, your support, and your role in helping us keep this space welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable.
Thank you for being part of our community.
